Amorgos is famous for its gorgeous beaches and the pure waters. These beaches were chosen by Luc Besson as scenery for the principal scenes of his movie, The Big Blue. Main beaches on Amorgos are Katapola and Aegialis, while there are many other small coves to discover if trekking along the island.

Location: 3 km from Chora
Description: At a 20 minutes walk from the monastery of Hozoviotissa, the pebble beach of Agia Anna offers its deep blue and crystal clear water.

Description: Agios Pavlos is a beautiful, sandy beach that doesn't get that popular as the other two main beaches of Amorgos, Katapola and Aegiali.
Location: 15 km north east of Chota
Description: Aegiali is the second most popular beach resort of Amorgos, after Katapola, however it keeps its authenticity. The beach is long and sandy.

Description: Katapola has a long and sandy beach that is lined by family hotels and fish taverns. It gets pretty popular in summer.

Description: This is a small, secluded beach that can be reached on foot from Katapola. A perfect place to relax.

Description: The beach took its name from the small chapel of Agios Panteleimon on the shore. This is a nice place to relax, away from crowds.
Location: 7 km west of Chora
Description: Finikes is a remote beach in a walking distance from the port of Katapola. Totally secluded and surrounded by wild cliffs, Finikes has clean water and no tourist facilities at all.
Location: 15 km north east of Chora
Description: This is a rather small beach without umbrellas and sundecks, but with some delicious cafeterias and taverns just above it. Fokiotrypa is covered with sand but at the edge of the shore there are some pebbles.
Location: 18km north east from Chora
Description: This is a rather small and secluded beach offering no tourist facilities like umbrellas and sundecks. It is mostly visited by those who enjoy the peaceful environment away from any crowd.
Location: 20 km south east of Chora
Description: This is a small secluded beach on the southern side of the island. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy pure privacy.
