Amorgos hotels

Hotels in Amorgos are numerous and vary in accommodation type. In Katapola, the main port of the island, you can find small Amorgos hotels and studios close to the beach, many of which are housed in renovated old buildings with Cycladic architecture. Chora village is the calm capital, surrounded by lovely white windmills. Accommodation there is limited to simple apartments and rooms, usually run by friendly locals.

Finally, the fishing village of Aegialis has a very traditional, authentic character, and it is becoming an increasingly popular tourist place. You can find traditional studios and Cycladic rooms to rent there, but some modern Amorgos hotels and suites are also popping up in the area, a short walking distance from the beach of Aegialis.

Where to stay in Amorgos

Chora, Aegialis and Katapola are surely the most convenient places to stay in Amorgos. Chora is the capital of the island and gets vivid in the evening as a nightlife spot. This is also where buses depart from, so it is also convenient if you do not have a private means of transport. Many Amorgos hotels and guesthouses are found in the narrow streets and small squares of Chora.

Nice hotels in Amorgos are also found in Aegialis and Katapola, the two commercial ports of the island, serving ferries from Athens and other Cyclades islands. These villages provide nice accommodation if you want to stay in a walking distance from the beach.
