Day 1
Drive along the coastal road by the Saronic Gulf to the Corinth Canal, which connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea. Short stop to walk the canal and take photos. Thus, we pass across to Peloponnese and we continue our drive to Epidaurus in order to visit the sanctuary of Asklepios, as well as the Theatre of Epidaurus, worldwide known for its remarkable acoustics. We proceed our tour with a short stop to the picturesque seaside town of Nafplion, which was the first capital of modern Greece. We continue our drive to Mycenae, the legendary home city of the Atreides. Visit the Lions Gate, the Cyclopean Walls, and King s Agamemnon Tomb. Driving through central Peloponnese and the towns of Tripolis and Megalopolis, we arrive at Olympia, the birth-place of the Olympic Games. Dinner and Overnight.
Day 2
Breakfast. In the morning, we will visit the Archaeological Site with the Sanctuary of Olympius Zeus, the Ancient Stadium and the museum. After this morning visit, we depart for Delphi. On our way we will cross the channel of Rio –? Antirion via the longest and most modern, suspended bridge in Europe, which connects the Peloponnese with Central Greece. Passing through the towns of Nafpaktos and Itea we will arrive at Delphi. Rest of the afternoon, free at leisure. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3
Breakfast. Morning visit of the Archaeological Site and the Museum of Delphi. Delphi was considered to be the centre of the Ancient world - the "Omphalos" (Navel) of the Earth - whose prestige extended far beyond the boundaries of the Hellenic world. One the slopes of Mount Parnassus, in a landscape of unparalleled beauty and majesty, lies the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios, where Pythia was giving her predictions for the future. Visit the Treasury of the Athenians, the Temple of Apollo and the Castalia spring. Finally at the museum, we will have the chance to admire some of the masterpieces of ancient Greek sculpture as the bronze Charioteer and the famous athlete Aghias. Depart for Kalambaka. Our way, we make a short stop at Arachova, famous for its handmade carpets and quilts. Driving through Central Greece and passing from the towns of Itea, Amphissa, Trikala and the Thessalian plains, we reach Kalambaka. Evening at leisure. Dinner and Overnight.
Day 4
Breakfast and we start our guided tour of Meteora Monasteries. In an atmosphere of religious mystery, built on the top huge rocks standing between earth and sky, lie the monasteries of Meteora. In our visit we will have the chance to discover a wealth of religious and historical treasures. Return to Athens via Thermopylae, where we will have the chance to visit the monument of Leonidas Tomb. We will arrive to Athens late in the afternoon.
