To go from Athens to Pelion, you first have to take the bus from Athens to Volos and then another bus to the particular region of Pelion. Buses from Athens to Volos depart from Liossion KTEL Bus Station. The bus trip lasts for almost 5 hours and there are many departures every day.
To go to KTEL Liossion, passengers have to take the metro line to Attiki Station and then take the bus/taxi to KTEL Liossion. The walking time from Attiki to KTEL Liossion is about 30 min.
There are also many bus connections between Volos and other Greek towns, including Thessaloniki, Larissa, Ioannina, Trikala, and Kozani. The bus trip from Thessaloniki to Volos lasts for 3 hours and buses depart from Macedonia KTEL Bus Station, 5 km west of Thessaloniki.
Once you arrive in Volos, you have to take another bus to the particular region of Pelion that you want to go. There are buses to almost all the villages of Pelion and very regular buses for the most popular locations, including Makrinitsa, Portaria, Tsagarada, Kala Nera, Milina and Platanias.

To go from Athens to Pelion by car, you take the National Highway Athens-Thessaloniki. After Lamia, at the junction of Almyros, you follow the signs to Volos. From Volos, you follow the signs to the particular location of Mount Pelion where you want to go.
To go from Thessaloniki to Pelion, you take the National Highway Thessaloniki-Athens. After Larissa, at the junction of Almyros, you follow the signs to Volos. From Volos, you follow the signs to the particular villages of Pelion where you want to go.
