In a recent article, CNN included the archaelogical site of Mycenae in mainland Greece among the 15 most important ancient sites that you might not know.

Various explanations have been given for the mysterious collapse of the Mycenaean civilization, about 3,200 years ago. Recently a new scientific research supports that the climatic change and more particularly a prolonged drought of 300 years was mainly responsible for the disappearance of the Mycenaeans.
