General information

Maries Zakynthos: The traditional village of Maries is located 31 km west of Zakynthos Town, on the top of a verdant hill. It is a quiet and charming mountainous village full of traditional stone houses and narrow streets. It has a population of 400 inhabitants most of whom are engaged in agriculture and farming.

The central square is the main attraction of the village offering a magnificent vew to the Ionian Sea. Panagia Mariesotissa is the most important church Maries housing a miraculous icon. Boats depart for the beautiful cove of Porto Vromi. Swimming there is a unique experience.
