Loralay 16 Dec 2011Tourist village but traditionalLast year at the end of season we stayed at Nidri, a beautiful fishing village in Lefkada. The hotel offered lovely views to the harbor and the streets were full of tourists. You will find plenty of waterfront restaurants serving the best fish food and the surrounding atmosphere will captivate you. We did a lot of shopping, there are dozens of local shops and chic boutiques to buy lovely gifts and souvenirs back home. We loved the secluded beaches only few metres from the port, blessed with crystal clear waters.
I loved Nydri because it was both traditional and cosmopolitan. There is not much nightlife in the village except from some clubs which were too noisy for us. At the town, you will find the best bars and clubs that youngsters mostly prefer. On the contrary, there are lovely seaside cafes and bars to spend your evenings. There are buses between Nidri and the Town about 4-5 times a day, the trip is 20 min. You can also take wonderful day trips to the islands of Meganisi and Skorpios, small islands with gorgeous beaches. There are boat trips every day.
