The island also has two ports, the main at Corfu Town and one at Lefkimi, that are connected with mainland Greece, Paxi, the Diapontian Islands and Italy (Ancona, Bari).

Corfu International Airport "Ioannis Kapodistrias" receives flights from Athens and Thessaloniki all year round. During the tourist season (approximately May to September) it also receives flights from many European cities, Dubai and Tel Aviv. The airport is located about 3 km away from Corfu Town and you can reach it by public bus, by car, or by taxi. A bus station lies close to the airport's entrance.
Ferries to Corfu from the Greek mainland depart from Igoumenitsa and Patra. Crossings from Igoumenitsa take place on a daily basis. The duration of the trip is approximately 1.5 hours and numerous itineraries are available during the day. Those start early in the morning and end late in the evening. Departures from Patra happen twice a week and the travel time is around 7.5 hours. Moreover, Corfu is reachable by ferry from Italy, particularly from the ports of Bari and Ancona. These ferries are very convenient for Italian and central European passengers who want to take their vehicle to the island. Crossings to Paxi and the Diapontian Islands (Mathraki, Ereikoussa, Othoni) are also available with a higher departure frequency during summer.
