Normal ferries connect Samos with the port of Piraeus, the largest port of Athens, and the trip takes about 12 hours. Ferries also connect Samos with other islands of the Aegean Sea, including Syros, Mykonos, Ikaria, Chios and more. Samos has two main ports, Vathy and Karlovassi, while in summer another port, Pythagorion, also operates. In summer, there are daily boats from Vathi Samos to Agios Kirikos Ikaria and Fourni. There are also daily ferries from Vathi Samos to Kusadasi Turkey and many visitors go and return as a day trip.
