The Girls School of Mytilene in Lesvos: The capital of Lesvos, Mytilene, is dotted with archaic remnants comprising of beautiful minarets that have always drawn tourists from all over the globe.
The Girls School of Mytilene is definitely one such place. Located in the historical center of the Mytilene, the school was built by a benefactor, Z. Vournazos, however, there are no records of the architect who built this school. The building was completed in 1899 and since then it has served as the 4rth elementary school and the 2nd high school for girls in Mytilene.
The school building has a rectangular profile with a firm symmetrical opening on both floors. The main entrance of the building is decorated with stone-made Neoclassical elements like columns, pediments, and lintels. Inside the building, there is a wooden staircase.
