The airport of Lesvos is located on the southeastern side of the island, 3 km from Mytilene, the capital of the island. It receives daily flights from Athens all year round and the flight time is 1 hour. It also receives flights from Thessaloniki 4-5 times per week operated by the small air company Astra Airlines. In summer, another small air company, Sky Express, has air connections between Lesvos, Heraklion Crete, Rhodes, Samos, Chios, and Lemnos.
