Keros coast and Aliki lagoon hiking tour

General Description

A trail with a totally different view during the four seasons. Blue and white in summer, as Aliki, the salt lagoon, is full of salt, lilium blooms along the coast and people enjoy the sea of Keros bay. Rain starts in autumn, visitors leave and avifauna arrives. The lakes are full of water and more and more birds arrive for breeding and wintering. Winter spreads its hard conditions affecting every living being, including man, but everyone resists and stays at his post to carry out his duty. Thousands of migratory birds overrun the region. And the time of rebirth comes in spring. Green and blue the prevailing colours of nature. Water and sun make nature bloom. Thus, a cycle of ecological processes during the whole year is completed and nature is ready to start again.

Hiking starts from the north of Keros coast at 08:00am or 05:00pm depending on the season and it is a loop trail of 6km. In between there are several stops to experience certain phenomena. We reach the south part of Alyki lagoon and we return via Makris Gialos coast to the starting point. Hiking time is 2h on rural road and on sand. At the time of our choice we can have a snack. This trail can also be combined with swimming.

Notes:The tour is not tailor -made for children. They can easily follow the trail as long as they are interested in nature adventures.
In order to ensure the best possible service for the guests, the tour is done with qualified professional guide, environmentalist, member of Interpret Europe Association.
In her backpack, the guide includes a first aid kit, so you don’t need to bring along your own one, unless there are any extra individual medical needs.

What to bring: Do not forget to wear proper garment according to season, hiking or training shoes and of course bring your photo camera to capture the beauty of nature.
