The cheeses produced on the island are widely popular for their high quality and pure taste. Two of the most popular offerings are kopanisti, a soft cheese with a peppery flavor, and the Tinian tyraki, which you will find in dry and fresh forms. The Tinian graviera, a type of yellow cheese, is favored by locals and visitors alike.

Tinos also offers many delectable meat products, including louza, a short pork loin baked in spices, and siglino, a type of dried pork. The delectable salsisci, a salami that is remarkably infused with garlic, is another local favorite. It is also worth trying the homemade pasta with tomato and basil, the sun-dried tomatoes, and the capers, generously used in salads and various dishes.

While in Tinos, you should not miss out on tasting its mouth-watering sweets. The most famous is undoubtedly galaktoboureko, a custard-filled pastry that is most notably prepared in the village of Pyrgos. Xerotigana (fried dough strips dipped in honey), and amygdalota (traditional macaroon biscuits) are equally delicious. Many sweets are made using the excellent thyme honey that is produced on the island as well.

Another tasty specialty of Tinos is dishes with artichokes for the island produces a lot of them, especially in Kato Meria. Some of these delicious original dishes are artichoke omelet, artichoke salad, artichoke with liver and rice, and much more. The beloved tsipouro and ouzo, as well as the local wine, are also must-haves.
