Akropoditi Dancefest 2024

The Akropoditi Dancefest of 2024 will be the 11th annual rendition of a wonderful international festival centered around dance and performative arts! It will take place in Ermoupolis and the village of Manna on Syros Island from the 11th to the 21st of July 2024!

The two-week-long Akropoditi Dancefest offers dance and dance-theater performances, open-to-all jams, film screenings, informative workshops, various showcases, and plenty of other activities! With this year’s title being E x p a n d i n g identities, visitors will have the ability to choose their preferred programs, including a contemporary dance workshop by Anna Vekiari, the body-in-water dance lessons of Vitoria Kotsalou (best known for their work at Onassis Stegi), a hip-hop class focusing on free-form dancing by Petros Nikolidis, and Eirini Apostolatou’s Articulated Dynamics contemporary dance workshop, as well as much more!

Past performers and workshops of Akropoditi Dancefest also included a theatrical workshop from actor Akilas Karazisis, dance lessons focusing on people with mobility impairments by Irini Kourouvani, a fresh take on African dances by teacher Anna Karamitsou, a one-act play by Lena Giaka and famed actor John Drakopoulos, plus ballet classes from actress, writer, and director Elena Topalidou! Moreover, classes in Akropoditi vary in difficulty and necessary background knowledge, making it ideal for dance beginners, advanced learners, and professionals alike!
