Location: Fira

Standing on the edge of the caldera in Fira, the whitewashed Church of Agios Minas in Santorini (also known as Katofirianos) can be found in the southern part of the old town, overlooking the volcanic landscape and the sea.

The church is dedicated to Saint Minas & Saint Alexios, the Man of God, and was constructed between 1537-1650.
It features an impressive white dome, a bell tower with three bells, and a small terrace with great views of the Aegean Sea.

You will not be able to visit the interior for most of the year. However, if you pay a visit during its patron Saint celebrations that occur on November 11th and manage to get inside, you will have the opportunity to admire the saint icons, as well as the details carved into the wooden altarpiece.
