Getting its name after the revered Cretan poet Vitsentzos Kornaros, Sitia Public Airport(IATA code: JSH, ICAO code: LGST) can be spotted in the northern part of the seaside Sitia Town.

Since 1984, it has been a small community airport that connects the eastern part of Lassithi with key towns around Greece, as well as a handful of international destinations.

The quiet prefecture of Lassithi is regularly connected by plane with a handful of destinations. More specifically, there are flights from Sitia to Athens (ATH), Preveza (PVK), and Alexandroupolis (AXD), most of which are handled by Olympic Air and Sky Express. A cost-efficient and quick option for getting from the airport to the town of Sitia is the bus. It may be a brief route, yet the bus will help you reach the town quickly.

Other than Sitia Town (3 km), Vitsentzos Kornaros is far from most known destinations of Lassithi, with the closest spots being the village of Agia Fotia (9.2 km), the stunning Papadiokampos Beach (11.9 km), and the fantastic Richti Gorge (17.5 km).
