The Hellenic Children's Museum in Kolonaki: The Children's Museum is located on Vasileos Georgiou Street in Kolonaki. A visit to this museum is definitely an enjoyable and educational experience for young people.

The museum was founded in 1987 by a few child experts under Sophia Roque's guidance. The museum sits in a very amiable location in the heart of Athens. This major street is one that you will certainly not miss if you are in Plaka as in the same block there is the Byzantine and Christian Museum and the Archaeological Lyceum of Aristotle.

The exhibits in the Children's Museum are different from those in any other museum. This is because the exhibits in this museum are not the objects that make up the collections, but three-dimensional environments that deal with different themes and allow visitors to interact in their contexts.

Currently, the museum's exhibits are:
• The Alphabet of Nutrition Exhibit, a supermarket-like space designed to inform and raise children's awareness of balanced nutrition, consumer awareness and critical thinking.
• The Kitchen Exhibit, a room in which children use raw materials and apply recipes in groups and then taste the fruits of their labours.
• The Driving and Walking Safely Exhibit, which deals with the value of traffic education and the observance of the Highway Code.
• The Into the Water Exhibit, an exhibit that allows young and old alike to experiment with water and soap to make bubbles.

On the ground floor of the classical building is the children's library as well as the much-needed playground. Moreover, the Great-Grandparents Room on the top floor will take them to the past with sets of an old living room with radio, furniture, and utensils.

The Children's Museum welcomes visitors from 17:00 to 20:00 on Friday and from 11:00 to 15:00 on weekends.
