Davis Cup - World Group I - Greece vs Slovakia

A highly-regarded tennis tournament, the Davis Cup World Group I matches between the national teams of Greece and Slovakia will be hosted at the revered Panathenaic Stadium of Athens on the 16th and 17th of September, 2023!

Davis Cup is a world-cup-style tennis tournament revolving around national teams instead of individual players! Since its inception in 1900, a total of 16 countries have lifted the trophy, whereas 23 countries have managed to reach the finals, with some of the most successful nations being the USA, Australia, Sweden, France, and Spain! On the contrary, Greece has yet to make it past the group stage, despite valiant efforts from tennis professionals such as Solon Peppas, Anastasios Bavelas, and Konstantinos Economidis!

This year’s Davis Cup World Group I will be hosting matches at the historical Kallimarmaro, giving a chance to thousands of people to support the national team in person! After their successful victory over Ecuador last February, Greek tennis superstar Stefanos Tsitsipas will again team up with Alexandros Skorilas, Michail Pervolarakis, Aristotelis Thanos, and his brother Petros Tsitsipas in a quest to advance to the 2024 Davis Cup Qualifiers!
