Spetses Villages: Baltiza village in spetses
Baltiza Village Spetses: Baltiza is the name of the Old Harbour of Spetses, which is lying at a distance of 1, 5 kilometres east from Dapia, the new harbour. It is a natural harbour, deeply penetrating the soft coastline of the island.

During the 18th and 19th centuries, Baltiza was the base of the developed shipbuilding activity of Spetses, an activity that still keeps on today.

During the winter time, the harbour is very picturesque, quietly surrounded by little fishing boats while in the summer it becomes a cosmopolitan place full of yachts and sail boats.

A lighthouse stands on a little peninsula, along with an old cannon battery. The white and yellow chapel of the Virgin of the Armada overlooks the port, surrounded by old cannons and the bronze statue of Kosmas Babatsis, one of the many Spetsiote heroes. The view from the chapel is astonishing, especially during the sunset.
