Feast of Agios Mamas: The island of Spetses is known to host many lively festivals, which include traditional music and dances, as well as eating and drinking. However, in the case of the Agios Mammas feast, the activities hosted during its celebration result outstanding in comparison to the rest.
The children gather on the edge of the waters, at the foot of the Agios Mammas church after vespers. Then, they leave either small candles or little paper boats made by themselves to float on the sea. This amusing occasion is obviously more low-key than the common festivals observed around Greece, and can be enjoyed by the whole family.
