Naxos Beaches: Sahara in Naxos Greece
Naxos Sahara 01

Sahara Naxos: In the continuation of Mikri Vigla Beach, the beach of Sahara is located just behind it and is a large and calm beach with golden sand and limpid waters.

A restaurant can be found just behind the beach and an other is located about 100 metres south and proposes a few rooms for rent.

Sahara Beach is a calmer alternative to Mikri Vigla for windsurfers who want to escape the crowd of the popular

beaches like Mikri Vigla.
People congregate in the right hand corner near to the headland because there is less wind here. The area is also great for snorkeling. Maybe the best place on the island.

Our Impressions:
This is another very long beach with lovely white sand. It is very undeveloped and there is a fair bit of sea debris. People congregate in the right hand corner near to the headland because there is less wind here. The water is clear as ever and this is a very good place for snorkeling because of the rocks. There are jellyfish so take care.
If you can find space out of the wind this is a good beach to visit.
If the winds comes from South, the beach of Sahara has big waves. It is a little dangerous and had a sailboat accident once there.
Useful Info :
- Where to eat/drink: 2 restaurants just behind.
- Shops/Minimarket: Many
- Telephone: Single one next the taverna
- Transportation: Bus stops here
- Beach Activities: None
