Amorgos: Arkesini Amorgos

Arkesini Village Amorgos: Arkesini is one of the oldest settlements in Amorgos located 15km from the capital. It has only 130 inhabitants, whose main occupation is cattle-breeding and fishing. The village is build among olive groves and other cultivations. In Arkesini, you will come across little whitewashed houses built at the slopes of Mountain Korakas.

All houses have decorated their courtyards with beautiful flowers. The nature here is calm and serene, whereas the hilly mountains have taken the place of the fertile soils and valleys. There are many interesting sites to see, like the imposing temple of Agios Onoufrios at the entrance of the village. You will find few lovely taverns offering some of the best delicacies.
