For the 5th consecutive year, the Fistiki Festival of Aegina will take place on the island, promoting fistiki, the special pistachios of Aegina, as a strong connective point between the locals and their land. This 4-day festival takes place from September 19th to 22nd, 2013, and includes a large number of events.
The peak of the festival is the large Trade Fair along the port of Aegina Town with over 60 exhibitors hosting pistachio in all its forms, as plain product, sweet, cosmetic, oil and drink. Along the port, there will also be stands with other agricultural products of Aegina, handicrafts, ceramics, jewelry and delicacies.
Parallel events include musical concerts, theatre performances for adults and kids, art exhibitions in the Folklore Museum of Aegina, the Tower of Markellos and other venues, lectures, cooking seminars, traditional dance performances, fairytale narrations and guided tour in the temple of Aphaia.
As part of the Fistiki Festival, the 5th George Best Half-Marathon will take place on Sunday, September 22nd, departing at 10:00 am from the port of Aegina.
