Halkidiki can be reached by bus from Thessaloniki. There are daily buses from Thessaloniki to various locations in Halkidiki, including Polygyros, Ouranoupolis, Nea Moudania, Pefkohori, Arnea, Kallithea, and many others. The trip duration varies depending on the location. Buses depart from Halkidiki Bus (KTEL) Station at the 9th km of the New National Road Thessaloniki-Nea Moudania.

Thessaloniki is connected by bus and train to Athens and many other towns of Greece. These buses arrive in Macedonia KTEL Station, so passengers have to take the Bus 45 or taxi to the Halkidiki KTEL Station. Bus 45 serves the route: KTEL Macedonia - New Railway Station - KTEL Halkidiki (every 20 min).
