Local Ferry in Kefalonia

Located 35 km west of Argostoli, the island's capital, Lixouri is the second-largest town of Kefalonia. Since both towns are built opposite one another around the Gulf of Argostoli, regular local ferries connect the two destinations. This is a safe and time-saving alternative to a rod tip, as the crossing only takes between 20 and 30 minutes.
During the summer months, boats run every half an hour on weekdays and Saturdays, while, on Sundays, there is one crossing per hour. Tickets are inexpensive and passengers may purchase them on board. These boats also allow passengers to take a vehicle with them from Argostoli to Lixouri at an additional cost.
