Samos Mytilini

General information

Mytilini village Samos: The village of Mytilini is an attractive and verdant place located on a valley, 10 km south west of Vathy. It has a population of about 2500 inhabitants and is full of beautiful houses, churches and chapels. It must not be confused with the capital of Lesvos. The village was actually named that way because many people moved from Mytilene and settled down here around 18th century, after a major earthquake that destroyed a great part of Lesvos. Today the village is famous for the production of tobacco and excellent wine.
