Two weeks without ferry connection

• Category: News

The island of Lemnos, Eastern Aegean, remains without a ferry connection for the 14th day. It has been two weeks since the last ferry arrived in its port, carrying passengers and food supply. This event is due to the sit-in of the sailors in the Panhellenic Nautical Federation, as they have not been paid their salaries. The authorities and the residents of Lemnos ask the Minister of Marine Merchantise to give a solution to this problem immediately, as the airport is not adequate to serve all the needs of the people. They also ask for a better connection between Lemnos, the nearby islands and the harbours in Northern Greece.
