Will Chios demolish a local eyesore?

Authorities have decided to pull down a glaring eyesore of a three-storied building. Built next to the neo-classical mansion that houses the National Bank, this particular building is just one of the thousands such edifices that have come up in the recent times. However, fueled by reports in the local newspaper, the populace of Chios gravely doubts the ability and the right of the authorities to undertake such a mission. The building in question is currently deserted and of no intrinsic or aesthetic value. There are two decisions to take: either to tear down this building to beautify the surrounding, either to preserve it for municipal benefits.
