General information

The famous Anthony Quinn Beach is located 20 km south of Rhodes Town between Faliraki and Ladiko Beach. The original name of the beach is Vagies. The area served as the shooting location for the 1961 film The Guns of Navarone, leading to the locals renaming the beach after the lead actor of the movie, Anthony Quinn.

Anthony Quinn Beach is considered to be one of the calmest and most beautiful spots on the island. This beach is rather small and narrow, with a combination of sand, pebbles and rocks, and the waters are ideal for swimming. The bay is also a popular spot for boat tours and water sports such as kayaking and paddle boarding.

While the beach is not entirely organized, facilities such as a few umbrellas and sun loungers are available for rent. Located around the area are also a parking space, public toilets, and a beachside taverna serving traditional Greek dishes. Anthony Quinn Beach is accessible by car or bus from Rhodes Town as well as other parts of the island, such as the village of Faliraki.
