Various pastry shops are scattered around the island of Patmos, giving the possibility to taste the excellent local sweets, such as the “pougia”, which is a sweet made with dough, almond, walnuts, sugar and syrup.

It is worth-trying the tasty local cheese-pie in one of the many bakeries of the island.
Tourist shops are mostly gathered in the waterfront of the port Skala and are open from 9am to 10pm everyday of the week.

Various shops are selling local products such as embroideries, ceramics, small sculptures and hand-woven fabrics with traditional designs.

Many fine jewellers are scattered in Chora and Skala, proposing handmade classic jewels or modern ones inspired by ancient motifs. Hand-painted icons and books on Byzantine times can be found in some shops.
