Leros Pandeli

General information

Pandeli Village Leros: Panteli is one of the oldest fishing villages in Leros. The small settlement is built amphitheatrically around the natural bay and joined with Platanos and Agia Marina. All the three areas form the capital of Leros. Panteli is the most picturesque spot of the island surrounded by an enchanting landscape of green trees, steep mountains and excellent coves. Most of its population is engaged in fishing witnessed by the plethora of taverns lying in the waterfront.

Traditional houses climb the hill forming a labyrinth of amazing alleys. The village has some old-fashioned cafes where most of the locals gather during the day and bars with a nice view to the sea. At the marina, you will see plenty of private yachts and sailboats. Above the settlement of Panteli, right on top of the hill stands the Byzantine Castle of Panagia and the traditional windmills.

    Fantastic views
A good hot climb up but steps all the way and the views from the top are fantastic. Unfortunately the church was closed when we got there - best check times before setting out if you want to go in.
