General information

Merikia Beach Leros: Merikia Beach is coiled up on the Bay of Lakki 6 km south of the capital of Leros. It is a peaceful sandy beach surrounded by tamarisk trees, overlooking the broad natural bay. As its waters are always blue and clean, it is possible to observe the fish and the little stones spread on the sea bottom. Due to its close proximity to Lakki port it is ideal area to taste the traditional fish dishes, in the seaside taverns.

Merikia is quite appreciated by the nature lovers and for those seeking some solitude and relaxing moments. It is close to Kokouki, one of the most famous beaches of Leros. Merikia is not difficult to reach, as many tourists usually arrive on foot from the beaches nearby or along the road. Some regular buses go along this road as well, connecting the island in their frequent route. The small settlement still preserves a traditional style, but it offers, at the same time, a sincere care and devotion to tourists and is an excellent choice for your summer vacation.
