This year, the island of Kos has been selected to host the 8th Congress on Women's Health and Disease from September 1st to 3rd, 2011. The birth place of Hippocrates was not accidentally chosen for this event, as it symbolizes the greatness and continuity of the medical tradition till present.
The opening ceremony will be held at the ancient site of Asklepeion, where Hippocrates received his medical training. The forthcoming congress held on a 3-day period will focus on interesting topics of gynecology and obstetrics, endocrinology and reproductive medicine. A great amount of information will be provided through lectures, postgraduate interactive sessions and videos of surgical procedures.
The congress will feature a distinguished line up of speakers who will talk about various medical issues and present their researches to a wider audience. All presentations will take place in English, the official language of the congress. Two speakers will be awarded for the best oral and poster presentation, while a certificate of attendance will be given to all participants.
The Congress is organized by the 2nd Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Athens and the Hellenic Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology. The 3-day event will take place at the Kipriotis Hotel (Kos International Convention Centre).
