Kos Agios Stefanos beach

General information

Agios Stefanos is located 37 km southwest of Kos Town and about 3.5 km northeast of Kefalos. The beach boasts a sandy shore adorned with small pebbles. The waters are crystal clear and shallow and many sunbeds and parasols line the coast, providing some nice relaxation spots.

The rocky region around the beach is covered with beautiful flowers and lush vegetation. The remains of the old Christian temples that lie nearby make Agios Stefanos stand out, providing the area with a remarkable archaeological flair. Ruins of columns, mosaic floors, and baptisteries can be found here and are part of why Agios Stefanos is one of the most photographed spots on the island.

However, the most interesting part of the area is Kastri, a small islet standing as a desolate castle in the middle of the sea. On it, you will see a white chapel with a blue dome dedicated to Agios Nikolaos. If you want to reach the islet, you can easily do so by boat, but you can also swim there. All of these features are uniquely combined to create a lovely environment for the visitors.
