Trela Ceramics is a concept store in Tinos, only a few minutes away from the main port. Housed at an old cafe with plenty of natural light, it opened its doors in 2018, mirroring the love of the French Carol Guineber for the picturesque island of Tinos.
Coming from the Greek word trela, which means madness, Trela Ceramics is more than just a store; it is an idea. Via its plenty of antique and contemporary collections, the main goal of the business is to create a cultural bridge between Greece and France, opening, at the same time, a doorway to the distant past. It houses a subtle collection of antique objects, such as letters from the 1950s, old postcards, jars, tavern tables and antique rugs from Kozani and Thessaloniki. Furthermore, it hosts antique furniture collected with patience and care by Carol herself.
Apart from the objects of historic significance, Trela Ceramics also works as a gallery, having contemporary pieces from both Greek and French designers: lighting by The Gentle Factory, vintage creations constructed with recycled paper by Aris Sotiriou, ceramics by Natalie Borst, creations of August 17 and many more!
But the artistic and cultural vision of this business doesn't stop there. What stands out is the unique collaboration of Trela Ceramics with the graphic studio God Save the Screen by Manuels Bonnet, with her exclusive line of T-shirts, candles, beach bags and cushions, inspired by the island of Tinos.
