Ermoupolis Guitar Festival 2013

This year, the 20th Hermoupolis Guitar Festival takes place from July 23rd to July 27th, 2013. This is actually a feast of guitar playing, with workshops, master classes, competitions and concerts in various venues of Ermoupolis, the capital of Syros island.

The program of the musical concerts is the following:

July 23rd, Tuesday, Apollo Theatre
Elegy for roles and characters, a retrospective and unexpected musical party with Aristophanes, Pindaros, Bach, Cavafy, Hatzidakis, Cocteau, etc, by the Greek musical group Guitarte Ensemble

July 24th, Wednesday, Metamorfosis Garden
Nylon Maiden, The music of Iron Maiden on six classic strings by Thomas Zwijsen (Netherlands), and
Music from Latin America, Gahuer Carrasco (Brazil)

July 25th, Thursday, Cyclades Gallery
Two guitars in the gallery- painting musical landscapes
Varvara Gyra, Bailando recital dedicated to dance
Michalis Sourvinos, recital

July 26th, Friday, Metamorfosis Garden
Vangelis Germanos (Greek musician)
A music journey with favorite songs

July 27th, Saturday, Apollo Theatre
Guitar Gala, Final concert and closing ceremony with distinguished students and competition winners. Festival guitar orchestra conducting by Angelos Nikolopoulos
