Painting exhibition of the National Gallery

An interesting collection of the Greek National Gallery is inaugurated today in the Old School of Kastro, on the Cycladic island of Sifnos. The collection includes 30 new and valuable acquisitions of the National Gallery and the common feature of all these paintings is that they have been obtained in the last 17 years. With the title New Acquisitions 1992-2009, this exhibition is coorganized by the Municipality and the Cultural Association of Sifnos in an effort to offer residents and visitors a unique artistic proposal. The 19th century Old School, that has been closed for years, houses ideally this nice exhibition, which will last till the end of August. Famous Greek artists will be present today at the inauguration ceremony, including Alekos Fassianos, Christos Kapralos, Dimitris Mytaras and others.
