Santorini Dominican Convent: The Dominican convent is ideally located in the predominantly Catholic quarters of Fira, the capital of the island of Santorini, in the town's center. The Convent hosts twelve nuns of different nationalities. It is a much-venerated convent for people belonging to the Christian faith. Inside the Convent, there is a church, the Rozario Church, which is conspicuous by its marvellous traditional architectural brilliance.
The church's baroque features have attracted the attention of historians and archaeologists. In fact, a visit to this magnificent Convent offers a fascinating insight into the high degree of craftsmanship that prevailed in Santorini in medieval times. There is a street that meanders through the Convent and if you are lucky, you can hear the nuns singing Vespers.

Discover the available Tours or get there with your own car rental, starting at 14€ per day.
The Dominican Convent of Santorini is located in Fira, just a 10-minute walk from the Central bus station and 6 minutes from a private parking lot.
Private transfers: We recommend using an online pre-booked Santorini transfer service, which provides transfer by taxi, minibus or private VIP car and arranging a pickup directly from your hotel. Alternatively, there’s the option of arranging a pickup by a local driver directly at the following numbers: 0030 690 679 4316, 0030 22860 22555.
Car rental: There’s the option of renting a car in Santorini with as little as 14.5 euro per day and pick it up directly from your hotel. You can then visit the Dominican Convent but also many other places of interest in Santorini.
Public transfers: Fira is where the central bus station of the island is located. There are bus connections between this bus station and the most areas of the island. Consider that time schedules might change according to the season. Check the official timetables here.
Tip: Since buses don’t always stop in every scheduled stop of their itinerary, our advice to visitors is to inform the driver about their final destination, so that he makes a stop there.
