Skaros Fish Tavern is located opposite the Skaros Rock at Imerovigli and boasts a lovely ambiance and amazing view. The emphasis of the menu is on the catch of the day and on simple traditional preparations with garlic and lemon that create some very tasty dishes. Whole perfectly grilled fish served with a simple Greek salad and fried potatoes can turn out to be quite an entree, particularly if the diner is a lover of seafood. Those not particularly keen on seafood can always opt for a chicken dish.
A typical lunch meal starts off with appetizers like tomatokeftedes, prepared from Santorini's small cherry-red tomatoes, or aubergine fritters served with tzatziki, a yogurt cucumber dip. A moussaka or Greek salad follows the mezedes. The seafood salad at the tavern is pretty popular with guests. Although it is served as a starter, the portion is substantial enough to pass off as a main meal or may serve as a shared starter for two.
The traditional sunset meals can be washed down with a glass of the famous Santorinian wine and a romantic walk along the cliff path can help work off the sumptuous dinner. The restaurant also offers dining options for staunch vegetarians. The romantic setting, especially at sunset, and the generous portion sizes are most definitely plus points.
