The history of Body Work goes back to 1980 when Ankie and John, a couple from Amsterdam with a deep passion for fitness and healthy lifestyle, settled on the island of Mykonos to start a new life there.
This is the story of how the Body Work gym was born. What started as a hobby soon grew into a lucrative business and the management constantly upgraded their equipment by investing in the latest range of sophistical equipment and by improving the amenities at the center. Today, they are joined by their two children, Naomi and Ion, who also help to run the fitness center. While Naomi welcomes you at the reception and takes you through the workouts, Ion is a licensed dietitian, as well as a personal trainer for Power Plate and weight training.
The professional team is made up by a group of internationally certified instructors and trainers, most of whom are speaking English, Dutch and other European languages. The different areas of the gym include the Weight Room with a full line of machines and weight, the Cardio Room which is equipped with treadmills, upright and recumbent bikes and steps, the wellness room offering yoga, power pilates with peak pilates equipment and the ping pong area.
There are separate changing areas and showers for men and women and an outdoor area for relaxation. A boutique, a juice bar and a parking lot are also part of the amenities at the Body Work Gym. This is the first gym in the Cyclades to have introduced the concept of 2 indoor rowers and the latest cardio machine called "Wave."
The Body Work Gym is located just 1 km from the town of Mykonos, on the road to Plati Yialos Beach, and it is easily accessible by bus, foot, taxi or motorbike. The gym is open from morning till late at night, closed on Sundays.
