Heraklion Kokkini Hani beach

General information

Kokkini Hani is a lovely beach located 14 km east of Heraklion Town. The shore is covered in soft sand and is divided into many smaller beaches. It is believed that the settlement took its name after Dimitrios Kokkinis, an individual who used to have an inn (hani) in the area.

The beach is fully organized, with umbrellas, sunbeds, and other tourist facilities, and is also supervised by lifeguards. However, the last 50 meters are not organized, making them an ideal choice for those who prefer a more quiet atmosphere. The waters across the coast are light blue and not very deep, perfectly suitable for children.
