Chania Arsenali Centre

The Arsenali Centre of Chania: The Arsenali Centre of Mediterranean Architecture, in short K.A.M, is an esteemed institution, administered by the Municipality of Chania. It is housed in a building called Megalo Neorio, alias Arsenali, which was constructed in 1585 by the Venetians and had been used as the school of the Christian community in the late 19th century.

The Arsenali Centre was recently established and its primary goal is to promote Mediterranean art and architecture as an element of connection between Greece, the Mediterranean countries and the whole of Europe. The institution organizes seminars and workshops that provide fascinating insights into the Mediterranean culture. It especially focuses on how architecture can define the Mediterranean identity and how space management and climate influence an area's architectural style.
