Location: Plaka
The Museum of Folk Art and Tradition Angeliki Hatzimichali is located today in the house of the great folklorist Angeliki Hatzimichali (1895-1965) on a quiet street in Plaka, which bears her name. The building, which is a monument of Modern Greek Architecture, is a work of the Macedonian Aristotelis Zachos. The interior decoration has been accomplished by popular artisans and represents a creation of exceptionally high aesthetics. Exhibition areas, a museum shop, and equipped classrooms for traditional arts are to be found on the premises, as well as a very interesting Folklore Library. Activities include temporary exhibitions, guided tours, classes on traditional art and cooperation with the Hellenic Folklore Society (ELE)
