Several ancient remains that had been buried during the construction of the stations of Monastiraki and Thission are brought back to light by the excavations that have recently begun due to the modernization works of the Athens Piraeus Electric Railways (ISAP- green metro line). Among the findings, there is a part of the altar of the Twelve Gods, whereas the other part is visible within the archaeological area of Ancient Agora. In fact, the archaeologists are completely aware of what to expect as there are parts of these ancient findings on both sides of the metro rails. According to the excavations plans, the reconstruction works will have ended till April.
