Cultural Events in Bourtzi: Bourtzi buzzes with activity throughout the summer season. A major initiative is undertaken by the local council and it organizes a chain of cultural events. Boutzi is ideally located between the old harbor and the new ferry harbor. At the Boutzi there is an outstanding old stone house which used to serve as a school in the past. There is also an open-air theatre and a time-honored Greek coffee shop.

In Bourtzi regular exhibitions are held which display the works of renowned Greek artists as well as photographers. Many other fascinating aspects of Greek culture like ancient mosaics are also exhibited from time to time.

as the Greek language is concerned, this should never come in the way of your attending some of the performances at the Bourtzi. You would do well to carry a soft cushion to sit as the seats here are quite stiff.

Pulsating live music is hosted at the traditional cafe throughout the summer season and the vast expanse of the sea as well as the resplendent lights of Skiathos harbor makes for a truly surreal setting.

Tickets can be purchased from the Tourist Information Center located near the Bourtzi, at the back of the harbor office.
