Aegina
is famous for its wide range of excellent pistachio
nuts and is the first producer of those in Greece.
Ceramics and potteries are also specialities of Aegina
and are fabricated in the picturesque village of Mesagros
where they can be bought and their fabrication seen
in the artists’ workshops.
They also can be found at the capital.
Aegina is a very fertile island (the most fertile of
the island of the Saronic Gulf) and produces various
agricultural products of high quality such as figs,
almonds, grapes and olives.
