Description: The strong fortress of Palamidi was first built by the Venetians and reinforced by the Turks. It always protected the town in times of war.

Location: At the entrance of the harbour
Description: The islet of Bourtzi stands right in the entrance of the port and has a strong fortress on it. It can be visited by tour boat from Nafplion.

Location: In the Old Town of Nafplion
Description: This Chaplet Museum was created by Aris Evangelinos and hosts his private collection of chaplets. It is housed in an 18th century mansion and includes a workshop.

Location: 10 km to the southeast of Nafplion
Description: This is a picturesque sandy beach that gets very popular in summer. It is organized, has crystal waters and some water sports clubs around.

Location:
25 km north of Nafplion
Description: The ancient site of Mycenae, which has been declared as a world heritage monument, is famous for its Cyclopean walls, the treasury of Atreus and the Lion Gate.

30 km east of Nafplion
Description: Epidaurus is mostly famous for its ancient theatre and the sanctuary of Asclepius. However, there are also many nice villages in the area, such as the picturesque village of Palea Epidaurus.

Location:
85 km south east of Nafplion, about two hours drive
Description: Porto Heli is a small, seaside town with excellent beaches close to it. The route is windy but it passes through nice villages and lush greenery.

:: The church of Saint Spyridon

Location:
In the centre of Nafplion
Description: This is the centre where Ioannis Kapodistrias, the first governor of Greece, was shot and killed, while he was entering the church to attend to the Sunday Holy Mass. In fact, the round shape of the bullet can still be seen in the door of the church.

:: The site of Ancient Tyrins

Location:
5 km north of Napflion
Description: Ancient Tyrins was a very strong town in the Mycenaean Era. Archaeological excavations performed by Heinrich Schliemann and the German Archaeological Institute revealed remains of strong fortification, a vaulted Mycenaean tomb and walls of public buildings.
