Description: A picturesque town with elegant architecture, Nafplion is a popular summer destination. It has two Venetian castles, Palamidi and Bourtzi, and many nice beaches surround the town.
Location: 10 km south east of Nafplion
Description: Tolo is the most popular and tourist developed village of Nafplion. It has plenty of tourist facilities in the area. Daily cruise ships leave from its port with destinations to the Saronic islands and Movemvasia.

Location: 10 km south east of Nafplion
Description: This is the main beach in Tolo, a popular beach resort south of Nafplion. It has soft sand, crystal water and many watersports centres along the coastline.

Located on a hill above Nafplion, the strong fortress of Palamidi was first built by the Venetians and reinforced by the Turks. It protected the town in times of war. It is seen from every spot of the city.
The islet of Bourtzi stands at the entrance of the port and has a strong fortress on it. It can be visited by boat from the port of Nafplion.
This is the centre where Ioannis Kapodistrias, the first governor of Greece, was shot and killed, while he was entering the church to attend the Holy Mass. In fact, the round shape of the bullet can still be seen in the door of the church.
