Church of Agia Kyriaki in Lefkada

On the northernmost spot of the Geni peninsula, facing the town of Kallithea, one may spot the church of Agia Kyriaki in Lefkada! Part of the Nidri area and the bay of Vlicho, Agia Kyriaki is a traditional-style Orthodox church surrounded by lush greenery, boasting a single bell tower, a stone-paved terrace, a short stone-built fence wall, and a stripped-down, ground-floor design!

Agia Kyriaki’s main attraction is its yearly festivities on the 7th of July, where the village of Vlicho celebrates from the late night hours up until the morning! Constructed in 1906, this church is accessible by car, whereas, on the day of the celebrations, it can also be reached by boat from the port of Nydri! Showcasing a seafront design, the church also hosts a small nearby cave (you will need to climb a ladder to enter it), where visitors will find various religious icons! On top of that, this chapel is also a popular place to get married and have a wedding ceremony!
