Kaminia Kefalonia: Kaminia is a sandy beach on the southern tip of Kefalonia, nestled in the Mounda bay. There is a parking lot near the beautiful beach but the road near towards the beach can be narrow and sloppy.

The beach of Kaminia is pretty long and is connected to the neighbouring Mounda beach to create a long stretch of sand, silent and relaxed.
 
The beach is protected by the WWF and EU’s Nature 2000 project as it is a nesting area of the Carretta-Carretta loggerhead turtles, which are already suffering mass extinction. The turtles nest in the gentle sloped sand during the midnights of May and August, when certain parts of the beach will be closed for camping and digging.

But there is small snack bar by the sand where you can refresh after a long stroll or swimming session with beautiful panoramic view of the lush hilly cape Mounda. It is a quiet area without much tourist rush and the water is warm and shallow. A few umbrellas are erected in the centre of the beach. You can also take a walk along the green countryside to the developed Katelios beach nearby and the tranquil village of Ratzakli. Kaminia and Ratzakli village can be accessed by turning from the national road from Katelios to Skala.
