Many archaeological excavations that took place in the sites of Ikaria, Lesvos and Chios brought to light several Neolithic and Roman finds of great interest. Several museums are worth a visit in the Eastern Aegean islands. For example, the Archaeological Museum in Ikaria contains a great collection of prehistoric findings and archaic sculptures as well as the museum of Lesvos.
